Hul Johar! I salute Martyrs Sido, Kanhu Chand, Bhairab, Phulo and Jhano on the occasion of Hul diwas!
Sido and kanhu (Murmu brothers)
The valiant freedom fighters fought against the British raj and mahajans (Exploiters, suppressors and oppressors)
They had two more brothers named Chand and Bhairob who also had great role in leading the Santal Hul.
They had two valiant sisters named Phulo and Jhano who had also great role in leading the Santal Hul.
The revolution started on 30th June, 1855 at the banyan tree of Panchkathiya, near Barhait block of Sahibganj District, Jharkhand. More than ten thousand Santals were present there.
The brave Santals fought with bows and arrows against the guns and cannons of the British army. Nearly twenty thousand Santals were killed during the Santal hul.
The fight lasted till the end of 1857.
The message was loud and clear. British Government acknowledged the protest and accorded Santalpargana Land tenancy Act.
Santal revolution is more popularly known as Santal Hul or Santal rebellion. Sido and kanhu, the great heroes and the freedom fighters would always be the source of inspirations and energy for the Indian people in general and Jharkhandi people in particular.
“O’ Our dear Beloved heroes we will venerate you and follow you to save Jharkhandi people. Your supreme sacrifice would always be remembered by us.

Is Raghu Government in Jharkhand against tribal people?
Dear Raghu dada, Hul johar! Your government extended a warm welcome to Aruna Mishra (she may be of a non Jharkhandi origin) when she arrived Ranchi after winning one gold medal in USA, but at the same time very unfortunately govt ignored Jhano Hansda, a Jharkhandi girl and a winner of three gold medal in USA when arrived at Ranchi. What could be the reason behind this prejudiced behavior of the Jharkhand Government? This may force us to think that the present govt is against the dignity, development and identity of the Jharkhandi people. Please speak out Mr. Chief Minister of Jharkhand

The politicians, corporates and other rich people who have acquired the land from the poor people and developed as farm houses should donate their land first for the development of the nation. It would be very nice initiative to motivate the people to accept Bhumi Adhigrahan act. Many projects, institutes and other Government offices can be built in the rich people’s land. Is this not a good solution?
